Join Nigel Taylor-Jones, Collections Team Leader at the Museum of Gloucester, for a guided talk about how life really was for soldiers in the Roman Army in the second of our new Lunch and Learn series at the Museum…
In costume, our resident Roman solider Lucius will demonstrate some of the equipment and weaponry used by the legionaries and auxiliaries. Areas covered in the session will also include life off duty, pay, duties, retirement, why people enlisted, the organisation of the military, medical care etc.

The talk on this date is FREE (although donations are always much appreciated).

Lunch is not provided! But you are welcome to bring your own to eat during the session!
